FUNCTION ROOM HIRE

The back of Mara's restaurant can be hired as a function room, which includes a private bar and sound systems. We're a unique, laidback wine bar on The Shore in Leith with gorgeous waterfront views and a space for up to 60 guests standing. We're only a short walk from the tram.

Malones Leith is also a great option - they have a Mezze area that can be hired for parties of up to 40 people, as well as more open spaces for informal events. They're right on the Shore tram stop, making it an easy commute.

Our maximum numbers are:

• Upstairs - The Back Bar: Up to 40 seated, or 60 standing

• Downstairs - The Front Bar: Up to 35 seated, or 40 standing

• Full Venue: Up to 75 seated, or 100 standing

We can also offer private bookings of one area with a few tables for guests to spill out to depending on numbers.

Yes, a £100 hire fee may be required to confirm your booking in our function room. This is to cover our additional staffing costs.

Cancellations must be made at least 5 working days in advance. Please note that you may lose your deposit or hire fee if you cancel.

We are happy to look at rescheduling your event to another date, subject to availability.

Absolutely - we've got a microphone, AV system, and screen connectivity available. Let us know ahead of time what you will need and we can ensure all the tech is working before you arrive.

Yes, they are! We have a clause in our license that allows under-18s to attend family events until the event has ended.

Please note, our standard bar license outside of private events allows under-18s until 8pm.

We are a completely dog-friendly venue, so yes!

However, for large, busy events, we do advise guests to be mindful that their dog may not be comfortable and it may be wise to leave them at home.

If you, as the event booker, do not want your guests to bring dogs, then we can enforce this however please be aware there may be dogs on-site in other groups.

We offer canapés and set buffet menus ranging up to £20pp. Let us know what you are looking and we can advise you accordingly on what's available.

Dietary needs including veggie, vegan, gluten-free and allergy-friendly options can be catered for - just let us know ahead of time.

Our kitchen is open until 9pm daily, after which we cannot offer any food packages.

We are unable to offer our standard ALC menu for larger events due to our kitchen size.
